From Food to Waste

With millions of households in America struggling for enough food, we as Americans waste $162 million dollars of food. The food waste has caused economic and environmental problems. With about 32 metric tons of food waste landfills are filling up quick. However this problem is not just limited to the United States. A report estimates that nearly a third of all food in the world made is wasted. The total cost of that food waste is between $300 Billion to $400 Billion dollars. However if we reduced food waste we could solve our malnourished issue and our economic issue and environmental problems from the waste.
